MISC:Egypt is famous for its Suez Canal, which is 103 miles long, and
is the shortest sea link between the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian
Ocean. Egypt was formerly the United Arab Republic. Cairo is Africa's
largest city. The Great Pyramid of Khufu is the only one of the seven
wonders of the world still standing. Over 90% of the land is desert,
only 2% is arable. The Nile is the only perennial water source. Uses
